Hugh Martin's first collection of poetry, The Stick Soldiers (BOA, 2013), was selected by Cornelius Eady as the winner of the A. Poulin, Lr. Poetry Prize. Martin spent six years in the Army National Guard and eleven months in Iraq. Martin is the recipient of a Wallace Stegner Fellowship and the Jeff Sharlet Memorial Award from the Iowa Review. A graduate of Muskingum University and Arizona State, he is currently the Emerging Writer Lecturer at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania.
