Jessica Treat
Jessica Treat grew up in New England and lived for a number of years in Mexico City. She is the author of two previous story collections: A Robber in the House (Coffee House Press), and Not a Chance (FC2), both in their second printings. Her stories have been published in numerous anthologies and journals, including Ms. Magazine, Epoch, Black Warrior Review, American Literary Review, Quarterly West, and Double Room. She has received artist residency awards from Civitella Ranieri Foundation in Italy, the Fundacion Valparaiso in Spain, and an Artist Fellowship Award in fiction from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts. Jessica Treat is Professor of English at Northwestern Connecticut Community College where she coordinates the Mad River Literary Festival. She has read and presented her work at numerous festivals, literary venues and universities, including Brown University, New York University, Universidad de Almeria (Spain), Boston Fiction Festival and The Poetry Project. She lives with her son in a small town in the Berkshires.
