Crystal
Bacon is a 1995 graduate of the Warren Wilson MFA Program for
Writers and a 1998 recipient of a New Jersey State Council of
the Arts grant. As a Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation poet,
she has led Clearing the Spring, Tending the Fountain seminars
for teachers in southern New Jersey. Her work has appeared
in a variety of publications in the United States and Canada,
including The Ontario Review, Tampa Review, Cortland Review,
Marlboro Review, and Antigonish Review as well as
the anthology Urban Nature: Poems about Wildlife in the City.
She has presented essays on Elizabeth Bishop in Massachusetts,
Nova Scotia, and Ouro Preto, Brazil. These essays appear
in Divisions of the Heart: Elizabeth Bishop and the Art of
Memory and Place, and In Worcester Massachusetts: Essays
on Elizabeth Bishop from the 1997 Elizabeth Bishop Conference
at WPI. A Professor of Communications at Gloucester
County College, she lives in Wenonah, New Jersey.
