Alpay Ulku was born in Turkey, grew up in Canada, finished
high school in England and has lived throughout the United
States. He received an MFA from the Iowa Writers' Workshop
and fellowships from the Helen Wurlitzer Foundation and the
Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts. His
work has appeared in many literary magazines, including Black
Warrior Review, Gettysburg Review and Malahat
Review. Aplay
lives outside Chicago with his wife, the writer Anne-Marie
Gallagher, and their Maine Coon cat, Mau-Mau Kitty.
