On April 21, BOA poet Kai Carlson-Wee was awarded a 2017 Shoestring Trophy during the Rochester International Film Festival for his short film, Riding the Highline. The evening kicked off with a screening of his award-winning film (also an official selection for the festival), followed by an audience Q&A with the poet and filmmaker.
Kai Carlson-Wee is the author of the forthcoming BOA collection, Rail (spring 2018).
We were thrilled to have Kai in BOA's hometown of Rochester, NY, for the weekend, and hosted a special gathering with BOA friends and board members to hear the poet read from his forthcoming collection.
Check out some great photos from the weekend!
