[caption id="attachment_653" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="6x6x2010"][/caption] In 2008, BOA and Rochester Contemporary Arts Center got together to put on Postcards in Jazz. The event featured BOA poet Wyn Cooper reading from Postcards from the Interior (BOA, 2005) along with a jazz combo featuring musicians Chris Azzara, Dave Blask, Jeff Campbell and Mark Kellogg. It took place during the Rochester International Jazz Festival which brings together some of the world's best jazz music for a weeklong celebration. The event was so much fun - we're going to do it again! This year's event (tentatively titled Jazz is Poetry) will feature BOA poet...

BOA visits Traditions and Translations at MAG

[caption id="attachment_639" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="Intern Liz Mullins and Peter Conners"][/caption] Last Friday, I attended Traditions and Translations: A Celebration of Japanese Culture at the Memorial Art Gallery as part of BOA Editions. Poulin Contest List of 18 Semi-Finalists

[caption id="attachment_622" align="alignleft" width="200" caption="A. Poulin, Jr. Poet, translator, founder of BOA Editions"][/caption] We've been asked to share the list of the 18 semi-finalists for the 9th annual A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize contest. These manuscripts were sent to final judge Tony Hoagland who then made the final winning selection. Each of these manuscripts stood-out in its own way, so applause and kudos to the poets. While we don't generally name official "semi-finalists" we're happy to provide the list of the manuscripts that Tony Hoagland received. These appear in no particular order and include the winning manuscript, Walking the Dog's...
