Barry Wallenstein is the author of five collections of poetry, including Beast is a Wolf With Brown Fire (BOA 1977). His poetry has appeared in over 100 journals in the U.S. and abroad, and in recent years he has emerged on a global level, participating in fellowships, workshops, and readings in London, Dublin, Cape Town, Prague, Paris, Scotland, and China. Wallenstein is Professor Emeritus of Literature and Creative Writing at the City University of New York, and is also an editor of the American Book Review.
