Matt Morton Wins Philosophical Society of Texas Book Prize for Poetry

Rochester, N.Y. — The Philosophical Society of Texas announced Monday, February 7, 2022 that Matt Morton’s Improvisation Without Accompaniment (BOA Editions, 2020) is the winner for the annual Philosophical Society of Texas Book Prize in Poetry. The prize, consisting of a $2,500 purse, honors a book of poetry that must either be about Texas or have been written by an author who has resided in or who was born within the boundaries of the Republic of Texas as claimed in 1836. Dine & Rhyme 2021

On Friday, October 8, 2021, BOA held its 24th annual Dine & Rhyme celebrating 20 years of the A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize with a documentary created by Kai Carlson-Wee. Geffrey Davis, Chen Chen, & Keetje Kuipers enriched the evening with readings from their various repertoires of BOA published books. Danni Quintos wins 20th annual A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize

Rochester, NY—BOA Editions, Ltd. is thrilled to announce that Danni Quintos of Lexington, KY is the winner of the 20th annual A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize. Her winning manuscript, Two Brown Dots, was selected by esteemed poet and essayist Aimee Nezhukumatathil from a pool of more than 900 original submissions. Two Brown Dots will be published by BOA Editions in April 2022 as part of the New Poets of America Series with a foreword by Aimee Nezhukumatathil. Aimee Nezhukumatathil will judge the 20th Poulin Prize

As we get ready to wrap-up National Poetry Month, BOA is excited to announce that renowned poet Aimee Nezhukumatathil will judge the 20th annual A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize, which will open for submissions on August 1! Aimee Nezhukumatathil is the author of four books of poetry, most recently, Oceanic (Copper Canyon Press), winner of the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award.
