Publisher Peter Conners Promoted to Executive Director of BOA Editions
BOA Editions is proud to announce that its Publisher Peter Conners has been promoted to the position of Executive Director. This title and its responsibilities will be added to his current job as Publisher making Conners’ official title, Publisher and Executive Director. Lannan Literary Grant Supports the Blessing the Boats Selections
BOA is honored to announce that the Lannan Foundation of Santa Fe, New Mexico, has generously awarded BOA a $35,000 grant in support of our Blessing the Boats Selections. Named in honor of poet Lucille Clifton (1936–2010) and her National Book Award-winning collection Blessing the Boats: New & Selected Poems 1988–2000 (BOA, 2000), Blessing the Boats Selections titles will celebrate works that continue Clifton’s legacy of writing to the experience of nonwhite women. Aimee Nezhukumatathil will judge the 20th Poulin Prize
As we get ready to wrap-up National Poetry Month, BOA is excited to announce that renowned poet Aimee Nezhukumatathil will judge the 20th annual A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize, which will open for submissions on August 1! Aimee Nezhukumatathil is the author of four books of poetry, most recently, Oceanic (Copper Canyon Press), winner of the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award. New York State Council on the Arts awards BOA Editions $23,000
Rochester, N.Y. — BOA Editions, Ltd. announced today that it has been awarded a $23,000 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) for FY2020 with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. NYSCA grants support the transformative impact of the performing, literary, visual and media arts in New York State.
