Poem of the Week: November 13, 2017
This week's poem is "Drying Apples" from Janice N. Harrington's Poulin Prize-winning collection Even the Hollow My Body Made Is Gone. The poem harkens back to the rural South shortly before the Civil Rights Era as an unnamed black woman labors to preserve the autumn harvest for her family.

Naomi Shihab Nye in Finland for Runokuu (Poetry Moon) Festival
Image courtesy of jackrichardsmith.com Naomi Shihab Nye is in Helsinki, Finland this week for the eighth annual Runokuu (Poetry Moon) Festival (August 23-29), Helsinki's only literature festival. With Runokuu calling her an "an awarded Palestinian-American poet whose poetry radiates warmth, humanity and humor," Nye will perform a reading on August 26 during the festival's "Night of the Living Poets" event.
